I was originally not going to post this photo of me. I took a bunch of cheesy, thumbs up photos of me in front of various things at FRH. This was one I posted on facebook. It turns out Rosina is the name of Ruth's mother. She then asked if she was the meaning of life. I replied

"It's a search for, the answer won't be in a boat, or a gun, or a piece of fruit. I'm hoping it will be the culmination of anything and everything I encounter, and everyone I encounter. Compiled together to make an image that makes sense, or at least, can be interpreted as making sense to those who'd like to listen.
"

I think I have to post everything from now on.

Procrastination and it's hold on my life. This photo was taken probably in april, maybe earlier of this year. It is from a series including 6 models, 2 makeup artists, and myself.

What do I take from this? I'm trying to appreciate work I have done. I'm my biggest critic, despite how I present my enormous ego. I also am trying to finish what I started. To keep the promises I make, and to push forward with everything I want to do with my life, my photography, and the world.
Personal Experience. After posting this photo a friend of mine from my days in cadets pointed out that this was at Fort Rodd Hill. My experience at FRH as a child was a happy one. On Canada day my family would head here, and my sister and I would get our faces painted, carrying little Canadian flags and wearing flag pins. I recall popcorn, and usually not wanting to leave.

To me this shows that community, environment, history, parks can lead to happy memories. It's a time long past now, but the memories remain, and paint a picture of the park that maybe no one else sees.

It also brings up my time in cadets, and Sarah. We met in cadets, and went to the Oak Bay Tea Party. We also saw Gob in concert.

Topics discussed today.
War, patriotism, duty, sacrifice, consumption, environment, history, dedication, destruction.

Finding joy in the little things

This little pig is a use of resources, a toy probably meant for a child. I found it discarded on the floor of a bar on Halloween. Petroleum based plastic, it could potentially have been an animal. It is a cheap toy massed produced to be consumed and used. I do not know why I picked it up, and I figured someone should get some more use out of it. I will find a home for this pig.

Other topics discussed today were Random acts of cruelty, relative happiness quotient, expectations and wants, material goods, post mortem cannibalism, righting wrongs.

Future Edit: This pig was given to a friend who wanted it, it was later discarded by that friend's roomate.
