I spent the morning acquiring food. Strawberries, yogurt, onigiri, (the seaweed covered triangles I ate on day one) and lots and lots of noodles. Throw in some meat sauce, and tuna (which is super cheap here) and bam, three or four days worth of food.

After this Rowen and I decided to walk to Akihabara, which is the tech district. The goal was to find a cord to connect my flash to the camera. Unfortunately, the model of flash I have uses an adapter for the cord, and attaches below the part that broke off.

From here we hiked to Shinbashi, which is where Rowen and I parted. She left for work on one train, I headed out to Roppongi in another. I went to a number of bars to try find some bartending or photography work. Absolutely no one was interested in doing photos. Most either had a staff member who already did, or they didn't have the budget for it. I still have some work lined up and some leads, but at this point I'm focusing on other venues of employment.

I made a quick stop into a bar I had gone into last year, and it was a private party so I wasn't allowed in. The staff recognized me from last year though. I wasn't wearing my piercings, but when the bartender saw me he pointed to my chin in a sign of recognition. They told me to come back later, I couldn't tonight, but I will go back for sure.

The next bar was a little hole in the wall, too small a venue to really change staff and they sent me to "First bar". It was almost overwhelmingly nice. I was greeted by men in suits, and they sat me down. I told them that I was looking for work, and was a photographer/bartender. They took me into a back room to chat, and told me they didn't need photos, but they need bartenders. He quizzed me on some drinks, and I didn't know what was in a margarita til he listed it off. (I remembered after he told me, I just never drink margaritas). I claimed that back home we called it "A Texas Mexican" or "Mexican Texas" . Something ridiculous like that. I then explained that I'd have to pick up different names, but that I was a quick learner. He seemed impressed and gave me the top bosses card and told me to call him tomorrow.

I intend on studying with Row on how to make drinks when she gets home from work.

I then proceeded to wander Roppongi until it was time to go home. I know the area well enough now not to get lost, and can navigate the metro to and from a few areas.

There are pics from recently, but my computer is being uncooperative. If it weren't my only source of internet/camera access it would have been destroyed fairly early on in this trip.
